ODAC Runner of the Week
Bridgewater College women's cross country freshmen Emily Smeds (of Palmyra, Va.) was selected ODAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Sept. 7. The team competed at the Eagles Cross Country Challenge on Friday Sept. 3. Smeds, in her first collegiate race, finished first with a time of 15.21.0. The rookie helped lead the team to a second-place finish with 51 points, trailing only first-place finisher Washington and Lee.

2021 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes
Twelve Bridgewater College softball student-athletes have been named 2021 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes. To earn this honor, student-athletes must boast a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Eagles named to the list for the 2021 season are Cheyenne Barlow, Brooklynn Fridley, Peyton Gregory, Emma Killion, Savannah Painter, Avery Pinder, Kathryn Thomas and Sarah Wimer. Also recognized were recent graduates Marlee Carroll, Keirsten Kennedy, Sydney Layman and Katrina Martin. The team rankings and individual honors are submitted by member head coaches and recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the association's membership categories.

Spring 2021 Dean's List
The Dean's List for the spring 2021 semester at Bridgewater College has been announced by Dr. Leona A. Sevick, provost and vice president for academic affairs. More than 450 students were named to the list. Students on the Dean's List have attained a 3.4 or better grade point average of a possible 4.0.
